The International Esports Federation concluded the 9th World Esports Summit in Busan, South Korea. This marked the end of a very productive year for Esports on the international stage. WES24 was held over two days and featured 10 panels, led by the top Esports professionals in the world. These discussions explored key industry issues and the latest trends shaping Esports’ future.
WES24 is now one of the most influential international Esports gatherings. The summit attracts more thought leaders, professionals, stakeholders and stakeholders from the Esports industry each year, providing a platform for dialogue, collaboration and innovation.
The summit featured the IESF referee academy where aspiring officials received expert mentoring and hands-on training from industry leaders. This program is designed to improve the quality of Esports officiating by providing referees the skills and knowledge they need to supervise competitions with accuracy and integrity.
A key initiative that was part of WES24 included the IESF training camp. This program is designed to help athletes develop. The IESF Training Camp provided athletes with expert advice on game strategy, scrimmage prep, and strategic insights. This helped them improve their performance and prepare for elite competition.
The World Esports Idea Quest for 2024 was also an IESF initiative this year. It revealed its winners. They were recognized for their outstanding Esports event project ideas that showed creativity and vision.
The prestigious National Federation of the Year Award, which was given to Indonesia on the final day of the Summit. This award is given to the federation who has shown excellence in all aspects of Esports throughout the year, including competitions and organizational achievements.
We reflect as WES24 ends on an exciting year of growth, collaboration, and unity within the international Esports Community. IESF anticipates greater success for the next few years with increased engagement by national federations and athletes.
